Poha/ Rice flakes 4-5 tbsp
Oil for frying
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
Jeera 1/2 tsp
Hing 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Chili powder 1/2 tsp
Sugar 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves a few
- Heat oil in a skillet, fry in oil seperately each of the following, Groundnut, Bengal gram, Cashew nuts, Raisins, Curry leaves and Green chilli. Fry till it is crisp. Set aside in a bowl.
- In the same oil, put the thick poha in a metal strainer (with a handle). Immerse the strainer in to the oil. Oil should be of medium heat. Fry it till it is crisp. Put it in a absorbant tissue paper and put on the bowl with other fried stuff.
- Heat another pan, add a little oil, add mustard seeds, jeera, few curry leaves, chilli powder, turmeric powder, required salt, sugar and hing/asafoetida.
- Add it add the fried poha. Mix well.
Enjoy the delicious mixture or Once the mixture is cool enough transfer the content in air-tight container
